I studied in Vienna, when there was very little in this area, but now there are lots of museums, cafes and museum shops, though unfortunately some of the development of the area is messed up. The people of Vienna are quite like those from Berlin in that way…leave every thing alone, and then a deluge…... the dark grey bricks and the MQ men adverts save the image though!

Italiens should take a leaf out of this place’s book…..such delicious ice-cream, such great design…the girls are also a sight to behold and they are really nice…..they have a talent to make great ginger ice-cream, there is a good mix of customers, who sit around enjoying their ice-cream…..which the kiez makes exceptionally well.

We painted the most beautiful gifts here…..it’s really funny to paint an item together….it’s lots of fun and the results were all really great…...great and very personal gift ideas- also very nice staff and great moulds to paint- a very successful concept.

i’ve known the hostel ruthensteiner since 1983….back then i stayed in their garage on an isomat and had a great time in vienna….it was so great that i later came to study there….now living in berlin i stayed at this place again last year, and it has changed a lot, a huge kitchen, bathroom, many rooms with showers, a lovely garden and even a bar….and still no “curfew”....and the location in westbahnhof is great (as long people still go to the westbahnhof!)

einstein is the only cafe in berlin where i feel like i’m in a vienna coffee house….minus the missing accents of the staff :-)....though the prices are a bit steep….but it remains something special. the cakes are delicious, the oysters and schnitzel too. i like the traditional outfits of the waiters/waitresses. and don’t forget the wonderful garden in the summer.
